You're maybe right about that, but:

I can't agree with this.
Werdna, I get that you don't like the guy, but you have to admit that he was and still is damn good!

Sure he's a world class goalkeeper and recently he seems to have calmed down a bit and actually talks some sense and can have a laugh. But His bonus with the German FA never went down well with me.

Finally we agree, I'm happy
There's always someone the FAs protect, in the German is Kahn, in Portugal are all Benfica players.

My favorite keeper was Carlos Gomes the best ever, he left Portugal on the run from the Portuguese dictator Salazar and his force the Pide, he was also voted the best keeper in Spain and Algeria.
forca Portugal
I also like Bento - in the world cup in 1986 in Mexico we beat England in the first game 1-0 , Bento broke his foot and continue playing, little did he know his career was over, never return, after the game Damas took over in game 2 and 3 but the portuguese players went on strike - the Saltillo case - almost what the Togo team did these year.
Maier was great with Bayern and I believe they won 3 CL titles with him in goal, he was also the goalkeeper in the world cup in 74 won by Germany 2-1 over Holland.

fathers always do go for the older generation though...my dad backs Gordon Banks over David Seaman any day of the week and I'd go vice versa. Way of the world.
As for Kahn's 'violent behaviour', a good captain needs to be like that sometimes...Keane, Effenberg, Shearer, Deschamps...

in my opinion Gordon Banks was the best keeper ever for England, also the reason England won the world cup, I still remember later in life he was playing in the old NASL and could only see out of one eye.

Oliver Kahn, the former German International, in interview to Kicker, said he will retire at 2008 when is contract ends. The Bayern München goalkeeper also said, he could retire earlier, if Bayern wins the Champions League:
"Ending my career with a Champions League victory would be great. If that happens, I would be given the Cup, then I would go home and never comeback".

Happy game for the mighty one.
Bayern won and Oliver Kahn kept the clean sheet.

Kahn will struggle Against Sporting. Inter is not an explosive team when you Got Nani making plays.

I think Kahn will keep up his impressive CL run, perhaps letting in two goals from now to December.
As for the long dispute in this forum, I can say that in my opinion Kahn certainly can be ranked amongst Yashin and Zoff

Inter's striker are better than Sporting's, by far and the mighty one didn't conceed goals, so he won't struggle.
