Good news for the club in my opinion. He hadn't met any target he had set in his years at the club, and the club really has been put in a less that satisfactory financial state.
The only year the club made any real advances financially under his leadership was due to the Rooney sale.
He has outsourced everything the club can. Stewards, Merchandising, Matchday Programmes, Catering. All done by outside companies.
The clubs training ground was built and paid for by the club, is now under ownership of a bank and we are leasing it.
We are now in a position that we are in the last year of a deal with JJb who get 100% of all our merchandising, where they are doing a pathetic job, and know it's their last year so aren't really marketing the club at all. Liverpool have 2 shops in the city centre, we have 0.
Most of all this is the man behind the Kirkby stadium, I wouldn't be surprised if that sorry excuse of a stadium is declined in the next few days. And I couldn't be happier if true.
To sum it up I will quote the headine article of
NSNO, an Everton fansite.
