I think if Moyes had any real doubt about Yakubus age he wouldn't be joking in the media about them.
As far as I know there is a simple test you can do on the bone to determine someones age, and the Yak had it when he joined Pompey.

I think it was probably a half-hearted comment at the time and he never expected it to get to this. I think they are taking it too personally and shouldn't be. I really don't think he meant too much by it.
