Everton sign Yakubu
EvertonFC
Quote:
Everton can confirm that they have agreed a fee with Middlesbrough for the transfer of Yakubu.
The Nigerian international centre-forward is now travelling to Merseyside for talks with The Toffees.
Yakubu figured in Boro’s opening two fixtures of the new season but was not part of Gareth Southgate’s squad that played Fulham at the weekend.
The striker is 24 years of age and joined the Riverside club in the summer of 2005 for £7.5m.

Great news, need him in for this weekend, hopefuly Manny will be confirmed soon.

For the player over the last 4 years 2nd highest goalscaorer in the premiership behind Henry? Still 24, good bit of business.

He's just behind Lampard and Drogba scoring most goals passed 3 years, so it's a good buy.

I agree with TAL. That's way to expensive. £11m is very much money for a team like Everton who I would assume dont have tons to spend. This is overpaying. His track record is pretty good, but not great.

Everton have completed the signing of Yakubu Aiyegbeni after he was granted a work permit.
Yakubu has tied up his £11.25million move to Goodison Park after being granted a work permit on appeal by the Home Office.
The former Portsmouth striker was initially refused a work permit because he has failed to play 75 per cent of Nigeria's games in the last two years.
Everton had agreed a deal with Middlesbrough last week and the Nigerian has signed a five-year contract.
Yakubu could go straight into the squad and make his debut this weekend against Bolton

Great News. Can't wait to see him and AJ upfront.

I think he is gonna bet better playing on a side of Evertons quality. He is proven and will continue to finish. He is a big dominate force in front, I think he is gonna have a big year, though not as many goals due to more talent around him. But still a bigger impact.

@ mighty t.a.l
your talking though your backside
11m is the going rate for a player of his quality
when you compare him to 6m kwene jones,5m chopra,6m nugent and 16m for bent
i feel we got a steal and still only 24 years old
