Fener is desperately trying to keep Appiah, I think they realize there is no way they could replace him at this point. You'd think he would stay now that he is guaranteed CL football, but he seems insistent on leaving. Sad really as he is quite the player.

Riquelme on Merseyside for Everton talks
Quote:
Everton are in talks with Villarreal midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme.
The Daily Mail says Riquelme, the Argentina playmaker, flies into Merseyside today for last-gasp transfer window talks with Everton.
Riquelme, 29, unsettled at Villarreal and seemingly on his way to Atletico Madrid, is considering the offer of a one-year loan deal.

Everton are reported to have joined the chase for Ecuadorian forward Felipe Caicedo. The 19-year-old is currently with Basel and really came to the fore in the summer as he made Ecuador's Copa America squad.

A Portuguese newspaper today reported that Everton are trying to work out a deal with Valencia to get Fernandes.
--------
Would you want him now, after he rejected Everton in the summer ?

There are alot of reports like this. Sky's chief Spanish Journalist in the UK said the deal is already adgreed with Manny and Albelda, however he is notorious for basically taking what is in Spanish newspapers and stating them as facts over here.
I'd take him back. Alot of people inside the club, such as the ex-assistant manager have said that the decision was not Manuel's to make, and the 3rd party basically chose which team he went to (highest bidder being Valancia). He's a trememndous player and I think he would fit perfectly into our midfield, especially over the next month with Osman out and Pienaar at the ACN.

Everton are poised to make Plymouth's versatile 17-year-old Ryan Gosling their first signing of the transfer window (Mirror).
Everton also linked with Lassana Diarra in the Mirror.

Lazio striker Goran Pandev has outlined his ambition to play in The Premier League, though he admits Bayern Munich is more likely to be his next destination.
While refusing to rule out remaining at the Stadio Olimpico, Pandev, who has two and a half years remaining on his Biancocelesti contract, did sound out Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton as clubs he would be happy to sign for.
Lazio have already confirmed that they have received offers for the 24-year-old Macedonia international.
Pandev told a Macedonian newspaper: "I've told to my agent that I'd like to play in the Premier League.
"Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton are the most interesting sides for me. I'd like to play for one of those clubs.
"However, German side Bayern Munich has the most concrete offer so far. Also, Lazio have an option to extend the agreement."

Realistically this transfer won't happen, but thought I'd put it here just to show how much the club's profile has changed in recent year thanks to the management of David Moyes.

Bayern Munich defender Daniel van Buyten has emerged as a possible transfer window target for Everton, setantasports.com can exclusively reveal.
The Belgian centre back is the type of experienced cover that Toffees boss David Moyes would like to bring to Goodison Park to help fill the void left by Joseph Yobo's participation in the African Cup of Nations with Nigeria.
Van Buyten's agent Christophe Henrotay told setantasports.com that Moyes realises the 29-year-old would be an ideal loan option but was quick to stress that there has been no contact with Bayern and talk of any possible deal is a long way off.
"I know David Moyes very well, he's a friend of mine and I know he's looking for a centre back," Henrotay told setantasports.com.
"Daniel is corresponding to the sort of player he's looking for - an experienced, quality player to cover Joseph Yobo when he goes to the African Cup of Nations.
"We talk about it but, today, I'm not about to go to Everton with Daniel.
"Yes, it's an idea and Daniel has not played so much at the beginning of the season as is the choice of the coach Ottmar Hitzfeld at Bayern.
"It's a normal idea coming up from David. He knows me and knows Daniel and feels if we could have him for a while on loan it could be great but, today, I haven't talked with Daniel about it and never with Bayern about it.
"It is a long way off but it's a real idea. It's no secret David would like to cover Yobo as he's going off to Africa.
"It's a great idea but there would be a long way to go yet."
Everton continue to impress in The Premier League and have progressed in the Carling Cup and Uefa Cup as Moyes has built an excellent side at Goodison.
However, Moyes will lose Yobo, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Steven Pienaar this month although there was some good news when Victor Anichebe was not called up by Nigeria.
Pienaar wants to delay his link-up with South Africa as long as possible, saying: "We are trying our best so I can stay a bit longer."

Would be a good loan signing in my opinion. Is he playing much at Bayern?

I'm not sure whether Bayern would agree on a loan deal.
Definately over a permant transfer though, I think.
And no, he's not playing. Demichelis has benched him since first game of the season.
He's our third choice cb, and has only played in the last four games in Bundesliga, due to Lucio's suspension.
This is really news to me, German media haven't reported anything on it, yet.

He ain't playing that much but he's our back-up CB. Lucio-Micho are starters. Sure we just bought Breno and have Hummels on the side but i prefer to start him if one of the two (Lucio & Micho) get injured/suspended.
Bayern Munich might consider it. Who knows.

Everton are convinced they will clinch the signing of Cardiff City whizkid Aaron Ramsey. The 17 year-old is being tracked by Arsenal and Manchester United, but the People says Everton are confident that the youngster will join them in the summer.

Everton boss Dave Moyes made a new check on Heerenveen midfielder Michael Bradley on Sunday. Moyes was in Holland to run his eye over the USA international.

Dave Moyes is chasing Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake. The Sunday Mirror says with Wolves uncertain of making the play-offs, the former Manchester United trainee is said to be undecided about playing another season in the Championship and would welcome a switch to Goodison.
