Default Moyes' £17million Swoop

Moyes sets up £17m swoop | the Daily Mail

Quote:
Everton manager David Moyes is ready to make his mark on the transfer market with £17million-worth of deals for Phil Jagielka, Alan Smith, Kieran Richardson and Jason Koumas.

After watching others force the pace this summer, Moyes intends to add fresh faces to the announcement that midfielders Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill have accepted longterm contracts.

Jagielka looks set to move for £4million, while Smith, valued at £5m, and £3m-rated Richardson are expected to follow from Manchester United, with West Brom's Koumas also wanted.

The Everton manager could even land Sheffield United skipper Jagielka today if his club are told, as expected, that their appeal against relegation from the Premiership has failed.

The versatile defender has a £4m escape clause in his contract and it is understood that a club of his choice need only meet that figure.

Moyes, who failed to beat Manchester United to Smith when he left Leeds three years ago, will be heartened the player rejected Middlesbrough. His arrival would cast further doubt over James Beattie's Everton future

Words cannot describe how much i want this to all be false.
For around 5million less amybe. But to be honest, I can't see any of those players being Moyes' first choice target, witht he exception of Jagielka who we have been after for a long time. Would much rather prefer Nugent than Smith to be honest, and don't rate Koumas for anywhere near the money WBA want and I don't want Richardson anywhere near this club.

I think they would all be good signings.

Jagielka - he has proved that he is decent.
Smith - will work his socks of get quite a few goals.
Richardson - I dont particularly rate, but I think he would improve like with most players with regular games.
Koumas - Def. premiership quality. Ideally £3 is the max you should bid but nothing more than £5. Quality set pieces, good passer and will get a few goals.

There all good age these players too.
