Default Why is Lampard the only one to get booed??

I have been thinking about this for quite some time now...why is Lamprd booed when he plays for England... I know his recent performances have been poor but a few seasons ago he was voted England's best player by the FANS. Do you guys turn on your players that easily???

I mean I know Lampard hasn't performed for England as he does for Chelsea but it is still rude to boo a player imo... I can see England not qualifying for Euro 2008 but it is not only Lampard's fault...all the big players haven't performed especially Gerrard...I personally rate Lampard higher than Gerrard but I don't want this to be a who is better arguement.

My main concern is that lampard is booed when for example Gerrard and Fat Paul (and other senior players) aren't and I was wondering whether any of you guys could give me a gd reason as to why they aren't...or why you guys boo Lampard??

Who did Lampard come on for? Its possible people booed the decision to bring that player off instead of booing Lampard. If people were booing Lampard its for the reason you said. Since the world cup he has been really bad for England.

robinson, phil neville and crouch have all been booed as well recently. to say lampard is the only one to get booed isn't true, he just happens to be the most high profile.

absolutely. and David Bentley & Kieron Dyer. Beckham got booed plenty of times in his England career.

i heard a few "experts"' take on why Lampard gets less sympathy from England fans. he doesnt take criticism particularly well- eg his reaction to Joey Barton's comments about his autobiography- and he doesnt come across as a particularly passionate player. i dont think that helps his cause but of course it doesnt justify his booing. just like Crouch didnt deserve to get harangued when he came on against Austria a couple of years ago, and serenaded with "freak" chants.....i guess there is just a minority of England fans who think that booing their players is in some way funny or productive.

Certainly the fact is when a senior player doesn't play well or goalless in several games, especially in International team. Plenty of fans will be having criticism on players in a nonsense way. They don't analyse what's the problem happened to that player after ended match. Virtually, when a team being beat that may not just a player's problem, it would be entire team's fault because football is 11 men involving in the game, we essentially need teamwork and great morale.
By the way, Lampard's performance in England international was unbelievable, despite he had lots of opportunities to kick the ball into the net, the importance of goalless was main reason to be scathed by world-wide fans and media. Hope Lampard can resume from goalless and prove yourself definitely.

I agree with Watofrd and NJ10, I went to see England play this year, Neville got booed because he was Neville, it really does show the retardness of England fans.

I think there are three reason why England hates Lampard now, concidering two - three years ago , Lampard was the most loved England player.

1. Shit world cup.... fair enough who else was good?
2. Not moving his Chelsea performences to England
3. England fans thinking Lamps is holding back their star boy Gerrard.

Ignorance??

These are the same fans who turned on Sven, and is probably one of their best coaches they have ever had.

Who the hell cares what England fans think, they are some of the most stupid fans you will come across. Not saying all are but the ones who follow lower league teams, just are persuaded by the media really easily.

I will never boo a Manchester United player, even Kieron Richardson i hated the **** but i wouldnt boo him.

Yep, and the fact they say Gerrard has to play in the middle, when a lot of liverpool fans have been saying Mascherano and Alonso are better in that role with Gerrard on the right.

Its England fans for you, i been saying it for years but no one takes notice. No wonder the England players are not showing the same commitment as they do with there clubs, when they have to answer to those clown supporters.

It is ironic that people said that Pearce would take Svens job. Sven takes Pearces job and sorts out the mess he left behind at Manchester City.

Well they do have foreigplayers to pass to. Take Wayne Rooney. You have Tevez, Giggs, Nani, Saha, Anderson and Ronaldo to pass to. They keep the ball and they will get you ball where you want it. Then you play for England and who is there to pass to that will keep the ball and give you it where you want it.

That is bollocks. The same can be said for any national team.

England have a good enough pool of players to be a top 5 world nation we just don't have the manager in place who can get the best out of the players we have.

I thought Lampard was very good second half last night.

But then again maybe its because Barry was in the side.
