Is Terry the right man to Captain England?
I know coming from a yank this question may not be very well received, but is Terry in your opinion the right man to captain England? Considering the Current squad who would be better fitted to do so?
I don't think Terry is quite the leader he has been made out to be and the reason I say that is twice in the last year I've read the headline: "FIFA investigate if Chelsea fail to control their players" both instances in relation to red cards I believe. but shouldn't Terry be the one to solve and if he is the leader so many think he is would this situation ever even arise?

No, because he's an disgrace at captain Chelsea. He has changed. He always tries to influence the referee. A captain should be fair.

Thats not strictly true. Roy Keane was a fantastic captain for Manchester Utd, and he did exactly what Terry is being castigated for.
I personally think Terry enjoys his reputation as "Captain Courageous" a bit too much, but you cant doubt his commitment and will to win, and he is definitely the best choice as captain. Who else would you pick? Stevie Me?? Rio?? Wazza??? There is only one choice for me.

Exactly, the choice basically came down to Gerrard or Terry... neither are always the most honest on the pitch, but Terry is more vocal and I reckon he's better suited to being captain, the most talented player doesn't have to be captain & if Gerrard had it he might try and influence the team to play his way like Henry seemed to do towards the end of his Arsenal spell.

Terry is out for the Estonia game so it looks like Stevie Gerrard will be captain.

Maybe we'll now see a more aggressive England. Terry complains too much to be a better captain than Gerrard.

This is the funniest shit I've read all day. So Gerrard doesn't complain? It's well within the rights of a captain to dispute bad calls and represent the opinion of the squad. From my perspective, the more vocal, the better. Would you honestly not want your captain to bitch at the ref when he's clearly wrong? Do you not agree that even if Terry is wrong, it would be beneficial to continually apply pressure to the ref knowing that you will inevitably get a favourable decision as a direct result of your pressure?
Quit being so bitter about Terry. I think most people would agree Terry is a much better leader and role model. For one, he doesn't dive.

When Terry is physical against the referee and pull down his hand when he's about to give a player a yellow card...then you've gone over the line. Gerrard is more fair than Terry will ever be. England loves Gerrard the most. It's a good reason why.

Terry only born leader England have, Body on the line, vocal, the man smells of determenation which only improves the team, the guy is a winner and a motivater, and he's only the best CD in the world which doesn't hurt.
a Legend.

This of course coming from a Chelsea fan, lol.
I personally think the man best suited is Gary Neville, but he appears to be finished now Richards has turned up.
