But I still haven't seen anyone at schoolboy level who has impressed me as much as Owen did when he was the young.

Lot's of "good" "solid" players but nobody who really stands out.

I don't know, Moses and Welbeck stand out on the ball, this was best youth English side I've ever seen play, Spain were just better on the night, Bojan and Meirda did a number on us, Bojan was player of torni by everyone.

Well Owen was a rare exception at the time, although not without his deficiences. There's some real talent in this England team with Welbeck, Murphy, Rose, and (of late) Lansbury, and six defenders.

Six defenders...

That's all the national team can do...defend.

Owen was unfortunately an exception. Wish we had more exceptions like him. I remember a few years back when it seemed we had too many good strikers. Shearer, Sheringham, Wright, Owen, Fowler all bagging 20 goals a season.

We have a very good defense and a pretty good midfield, we don't need the youth teams coughing up 6 defenders a year, we need goalscorers, someone the very good midfield players (including Rooney, he isn't a goalscorer) can set up goals for.

Well people complain we don't have the numbers all over the pitch. I can see Murphy and Sturridge making an unusually good strike pairing.
