Crouch is a weapon.
Any manager who would voluntarily rule Crouch out of a squad must have gone to the Mcclaren school of footy.
Just like Beckham, you know what you are getting with Crouch and the opposition fears it because it is almost impossible to defend against.
Crouch would have been a perfect weapon to come on for the last 20-30 minutes in Israel.

Well, this ridiculous circus freak have a much better score rate than Rooney.When Owen is fit again it should be Crouch/Owen up front.Then maybe England can show a better offensive side... |

On overall play and on 90 minutes, I'd say no Crouch shouldn't be in the top two.
However, as I said before Crouch is a weapon. If he can learnt to head the ball more frequently like his second goal yesterday, he will become invaluable!
If a team know that if they cross the ball into and area and Crouch is going to win the ball 80% of the time and score with half of those chances, that would be an absolute godsend as hardly any team in the world would be able to defend against it.
What he isn't world class at is holding the ball and holding the ball up which is why I don't like it when England and Liverpool play long balls out of defense into Crouch. |
