Default Rooney in lone striker role! Just asking for fucking trouble!

It seems that's where he's playing today. It'll keep Lampard happy, (although he seems on the verge of a nervous break down), but not to play the Roonster to his strengths is stupid beyond belief!

I hope he gets frustrated , goes to make a rash tackle and gets sent off.

btw did Rooney do anything in the last game playing upfront alone ?

Shame. I was wrong, didn't work - I hope he doesn't get any stick.

What could he do when the midfielders gave him no support? He was so isolated he had no chance of making any meaningful contribution.

Crouch was amazing when he came on, he may as well have started with Crouch and brought Rooney on for Cole later to add something different.

Rooney in a lone striker role is just stupid, but it certainly was more promising than Crouch in the lone striker role What was Erikkson thinking!?

Eh?

Obviously The Crouchie Monster should have played, with Rooney behind, and Lampard fucked off.
