Who should be the next England Boss?
Who should replace Sven when he calls it a day in the summer?

England's next manager?
Quote:
England's Next Manager: The Contenders
The debate set to dominate our lives for the next few months has well and truly started following last night’s news that Sven-Goran Eriksson will step down as England boss after this summers World Cup.
The writing had been on the wall for quite some time, but with the news now being confirmed it means we England fans can discuss who we think and want to be the next boss.
Let's take a look at some of the main contenders:
The English crop:
Sam Allardyce – Bolton manager
Big Sam has emerged as the Bookies' favourite this morning and his team are currently the best performers of all the Premiership outfits managed by Englishmen. He has stated a desire to be England manager and has the passion which so many felt was lacking from Eriksson. He has done wonders with Bolton and seems to have superb man-management skills. However, he is not known for entertaining football and has the ability to moan, moan and moan, which means he has not endeared himself to everyone.
Verdict: The most likely English appointment, but a big gamble.
Alan Curbishley – Charlton manager
For a long time Curbs has been the most impressive English manager in the Premiership, having turned the Addicks into a top-half side on a consistent basis. He is clearly very loyal, a likeable man and never makes headlines for the wrong reasons. He’s never experienced intense pressure, and has no experience of the game outside of England.
Verdict: These reasons and the fact Charlton aren’t having the best season could see him miss the boat, but still a contender.
Stuart Pearce – Manchester City manager
Definitely an England manager for the future, but could have done with Eriksson staying on to 2008, when Pearce would have the experience to take the job on. As a player he was as passionate as they come and for this he is loved by the majority of the public. He would be a popular appointment, even with the lack of experience, but the FA are unlikely to take the gamble. Pearce himself has blasted the prospect that he could be the England boss so early in his managerial career.
Verdict: Not this time.
Steve McClaren – Middlesbrough manager and Eriksson’s assistant
Due to being already involved in the England set-up, McClaren has been a strong contender and has at times been the favourite to replace the Swede. However, his appointment would now be suicide from the Football Association as McClaren has next to no public support and is seriously lacking in charisma to win them or the media over. He’s been criticised for his style of play, is currently taking Boro nervously close to the relegation zone and unlike his rivals for the position has had big-name players to work with and still not cut the mustard.
Verdict: No chance… surely!
Other Englishmen:
Paul Jewell – Wigan manager
Hugely talented, but too much of a gamble to be seriously considered.
Alan Pardew – West Ham manager
Too many question marks despite West Ham’s fine season.
Steve Bruce – Birmingham manager
One time candidate, but no longer has a prayer.
Bryan Robson – West Brom manager
The former England captain was always touted as a potential national boss, but hasn’t impressed enough to be given the chance.
Alan Shearer – Newcastle player (retires this summer)
The striker definitely has the makings of being a manager, but the FA won’t risk appointing someone with no managerial experience.
The Foreigners:
Martin O’Neill – Former Celtic boss
The Northern Irishman is a much-loved and respected coach with passion in abundance, but due to personal reasons it is highly unlikely he’ll be persuaded into taking the job. Definitely a contender though.
Verdict: Wrong time.
Ottmar Hitzfeld – Former Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich boss
Hugely respected coach who has won just about the lot domestically, including the Champions League with two different teams. Currently out of work and due a return with a big name, but would find life hard winning over the English media.
Verdict: England will not appoint a German.
Guus Hiddink – Australia and PSV manager
Definitely one of the best managers in World football and arguably has the best CV to take on the job. He’s taken both Holland and South Korea to World Cup finals, while he has qualified Australia for this year's competition. He’s a massively successful club manager and has the personality to be liked by the public and the media, while showing more passion than Eriksson.
Verdict: Hard to find a negative. Should be offered the post.
Other foreigners:
Sir Alex Ferguson – Manchester United manager
Too unpopular and too old. Would never happen.
Arsene Wenger – Arsenal manager
Worth considering, but would still be an unpopular choice.
Jose Mourinho – Chelsea manager
Would be hard to tempt him away from Chelsea just yet, while financially impossible.

Sam Allardyce, Phil Scolari and the Guus are the only worthy candidates on the list.
I picked the Guus because he is the best, but you can't have him. HE'S OURS!

Brown backs Butcher for England job
Craig Brown believes the Football Association should consider former England captain Terry Butcher as a possible replacement for Sven-Goran Eriksson.
The former Scotland boss believes Butcher has become an accomplished manager since moving north of the border to take charge at Motherwell, who are presently seventh in the Bank of Scotland Premier League.
With Eriksson due to depart after the World Cup, Brown told BBC Sport: 'There's one name that hasn't been linked with the job and it should be and that's the former England captain Terry Butcher.
'He's intelligent, honourable and vastly experienced.
'Terry failed at Coventry and Sunderland but I've been really impressed by what he has done at Motherwell, where he has had to manage on a shoestring.'
Holland and hosts Germany will go into the World Cup with young managers in Marco van Basten and Jurgen Klinsmann.
Both are peers of Butcher from his international playing days, and neither held senior coaching positions before being handed responsibility for their national teams.
'Compared to those two coaches, Terry is vastly experienced and importantly he would excel at the man-management side of the game,' predicted Brown.

I think that the best choice would be Mourinio. Not only has he known the English mendality, but also the players. This group of the players is the best of the last 20 years so England needs a coach who will be good and winner. As a result,Mourinio is the best choice

He would be a good choice but he wont leave Chelsea to manage England. In fact I think he has already said he wouldn't do the job as he believes an Englishman should do it.

Toughy... Of the Englishmen I only rate Big Sam and not so Big Curbishley, of the 2 I'd go for Sam as he is a true British Bulldog who'll stand on the line spitting and shouting. He also seems to be able to really motivate his players and get the very best out of them. He has easily dealt with many big ego's too such as Campo and Hierro who came from mighty Madrid.
Others I'd like to see come in might be Guus Hiddink as he has been there and got very good experience. Also Big Phil Solari for the obvious reason that he has got the best from the best in the world in Brazil and did wonders with Portugal too getting them to the Euro final in 2004.
One other might be Martin O'Neill but I don't think he'd want to manage England with his Irish roots..
I'd hate to see MaClaren get the job cos he ain't quite there, I'd also hate to see Pierce in the job now because he's the best future manager we have and would be wasted now...

Got a problem with foreign people?
The man has won 3 league titles. Show me the last spurs manager to do that and we'll make him manager.

Problems with Foreign people, problems with women, your accusations are getting worse...!!!
I have a beautiful Colombian wife so that 's basically no and no to both your questions...
Fella, you can't seem to take a bit of banter, would you rather I be serious with you all the time?
I wouldn't want a Frenchman in charge of England for the same reason I wouldn't want a German in charge, and the reason is that the old rivalry goes too deep for comfort...
