All i can say is David Healy>>>Michael Owen

That defeat was equivalent of Arsenal/Chelsea/United full strength losing to a 2nd division team. A total disgrace tbh.

Like i said i would like to know how much Hargreaves pays Sven to be in the England squad. I have never ever seen him do anything. Parker and Carrick are far better players and they are not even in the squad.

England have no chance of winning the world cup. The current Brazil team is better then the team that won the tournament 3 years ago with the emmergence of Robinho.

I dont watch German football but from what i heard he is almost in the team every week in the Bayern team and is always playing very well.

I think the formation and system of play is why some of the players cant play at there true potential. Also the fact it takes time to gel with new players every time you play at international football.

Thats why international managers always are being tipped to be sacked every week, look at the previous england managers they all been asked to be sacked and finally have been.

I honestly can tell you there is not ONE english manager currently available better then Sven.

I never watch German fussball either but for England Hargreaves has never done anything and on that basis he shouldn't make the squad. Carrick played well for England in the USA which is more then Hargreaves has ever done. Scott Parker has never been given an oppurtunity that he deserves.

that game was an absolute disgrace...

as soon as i heard that swedish pr!ck was playing that stupid 451 thing that hes copied from chelsea i thought we were in trouble...

for starters, owen is not a target man, nor is he the lone striker type of player... especially not when the opposition is sticking several men behind the ball..

secondly, rooney is NOT a left winger.. and if he was meant to be playing behind owen, in the hole, then that would leave us weak in defence on that side..

thirdly, what is the point of 'mr quarterback' hoofing long balls up the field for owen to chase or battle for?!? hes not a target man.. hes certainly not going to be able to chase things when there are several players more likely to get the ball.. especially when beckham decides to hoof the ball right to them anyway...

and then the subs....

jesus h fukking christ...

taking off the only man who frightened the defence in swp... he was running rings around capaldi... and to swap him for the english version of the riverdance reject only our version has half the skill, was baffling... joe cole has yet again, proven what a complete waste of space he really is... a little dance on the ball before he either passes it to the opposition, or it gets taken off his toes... first crap sub....

then bringing on defoe... the man has never done anything in an england shirt, so why keep insisting on bringing the over rated little pr!ck on the field?!? oh wait.. i get it.. he has, for some bizarre unknown reason, a reputation for being this super player, when in reality, he really is as over rated as joe cole... and by who?!? the cockerney media.... so the swede is simply bowing to the media yet again... he did fukk all yet again... second crap sub

then hargreaves... boy oh boy.. how this canadian fella ever got the chance to play for england in the first place is a mystery to me... how he keeps playing for england is an even greater mystery... he did fukk all apart from foul and give the ball away... third crap sub...

in my view, eriksson, has to stop picking the formation to suit his favourite players and has to start picking the players to suit the formation... if beckham is playing crap, then pick someone else.. if he cant fit gerrard, beckham and lampard in the middle, without fukking things up for the front two and sticking one on the wing, then drop one of the midfield men...

we would at least have someone decent to come on if we are playing crap then..

we have one of the most gifted front men in the world at our disposal.. we should not be sticking him out on the left wing to suit some hairbrained idiotic tactic which is designed to keep the 'favourites' happy...

eriksson must realise, he is the manager of the english national side... HE should be in charge.. not the players...

its a privelidge to play for your country and they should be grateful to even be in the squad...

I dont think its that bad, you guys would be saying england will win the world cup if you win your next two games which you will easily do.

It wasnt that bad, if england took there chances in the first half they would have the game by a massive margin.

Svens first defeat in the world cup qualifiers, its tough being a international manager and the media pressure on him dont make it any easier. He is better then any of the current english managers in there. 4-5-1 may have been wrong but im sure he will learn from that. You can only play that formation as you mentioned ralf if you have a target man like drogba, shearer or van nistelrooy. I find it weird he chose that with Owen as the target man, really strange indeed.

Defoe never has had a chance to do anything for England because Real Madrid reject Owen never gets dropped.

he has had plenty of chances...

when vassell used to come on and do well for england from the subs bench, people used to say how he was bound to do well because he was fresh and running against tired defenders, etc...

defoe has come on fresh against tired defences and he has done what exactly?!?

il tell you what... hes done fukk all...

I think its harsh on Defoe, he needs to play of a player similar to Kanoute or a Drogba type player who can hold the ball up. Owen cant do that. Vassell was more of a player who used to get in to the box and was always in the right place at the right time, defoe has a different style where he can also hold the ball and can turn defenders with his pace.

Great post.

You are right about the formation there is no point playing players out of possition just to fit them in the team.

As for Svens subs they are always amazingly crap.
