He was only there for about 5 mins. He can certainly play there as he has done for united where as Beckham has never played left mid and is a central midfielder these days.

I can honestly say I was very happy with the 1-0 against wales, saw it as a potential bannana skin, and I think NI should be seen in much the same way.
At home they will be up for it, and if it was offered to me now, i would take 1-0 straight away.
thrashings are very rare in international football these days, and especially not derby games such as this.

sorry but rooney is a c*nt and should have been sent off. he never learns
first he just wasted a free kick by trying to kick it at someone then the went up with a fist and arm
the flashing advertising boards are more interesting to watch

Sent off! B0ll0cks! It isn't as if he tried to punch the NI player he was just challenging for a header (just a bit physically).
Shít game, the serious flaws of many England players mean we can't play this formation. Rooney has got píssed off cos he has sent 45mins watching Beckham pass to SWP and SWP fcuk it up while Rooney has hardly seen the ball.
The only player that at the moment seems to benefit from this formation is Beckham; Lampard ad Gerrard look lost, Owen is probably the worlds worst target man and Rooney isn't a left midfielder (playing on the left of a front three is one thing the possition he is playing at the moment is another).

i hope he gets sent off, maybe it will make him think if anyone can get anything into that big fat head of his

Come off it if he wanted to punch someone he would of, just cos he had his fist clenched doens't mean he was planing to hit someone (am I the only one the clenches my fists when I'm in a temper?).
BTW our best move of the game was a brilliant pass over the top from Rooney to Owen, Owen miss controlled it but it still landed at his feet and a pass to Lampard would of put him one on one so obviously the selfish little prat had a shot.

Lets say this nice and slowly, friendlies are for fcuking about with new formations, not competetive internationals, if you fcuk about with the formation in competetive games the dumb footballers get all confused, and end up playing shíte. Akso the contempt shown the oposition by playing around with the formation thinking "we'll win anyway" is unexpectable but also effects the players e.g. Michael Owen who thought he'd have a shot when there were three players between him and the goal rather than pass to Lampard who would of been one on one, Owen wouldn't of done that against Brazil but did against NI as he thought we would get plenty of chances and will score at some point.
I can't be bothered to slate Sven cos I'll just be going over the same old ground if you really want my opinion on Sven study my sig close enough it is there somewhere.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that, much as I dislike them, Pearce or Wright needs to be brought in to the coaching staff.
Lets have a bit of passion FFS.

Living testament to that peculiarly Mancunian talent for gazing at the world in all it's wonder, thinking for a minute, and then muttering "Nah that's bollocks. This is how we'll do it..."

I agree on both counts Pearce especially needs to be brought in.
