If ashton had scored more last season he coyld've meritted a call up, but bent is a very good player imo and will score this season, all beit against championship opponents at the weekend

I've always liked alan smith, but he doesnt play regularly when others do and doesn't score nearly as many goals as he should. I think darren bent is a rash decision, but it is a friendly and giving him a chance to prove his worth may pay off.

BTW Smith asked Sven to leave him out the side so he could play for our reserves cos he feels his fitness needs improving, yet again putting club before country - Legend. |

smith has not done anything but work hard at international level.
i would want him in any team i managed and wouldnt mind if we bought him at chelsea....better than cole, perhaps drogba and potentially a player of mark hughes quality.
