Default England Squad for the World Cup...

With the World Cup under a year away are you screaming out for any changes to be made to the current squad or formation? Do you agree with Svens current selection and tactics or would you make a few changes? Who would be in your starting XI for the coming World Cup and what formation would you go for...???
Including subs you'd look to bring on as a game progresses...

Svens probable starting 11 in the 4-4-2 he favors...

GK - Robbinson

RB - G Nevelle
CB - Terry
CB - Ferdinand
LB - A Cole

RM - Beckham
CM - Lampard
Cm - Gerrard
LM - J Cole

CF - Rooney
St - Owen

Substitutions he'd probably make; Defoe for Owen, SWF For Becks or Lamps (with Becks coming inside), Downing for J Cole...

If this is to be our method of approach (again) then I am a little concerned in respect that we won't have changed in any great capacity since we failed at the last world cup (i.e. our opponants will know what to expect of us. Also we seem to lack a secret weapon (i.e. Rooney was unknow before the world and cup but will now be marked tight this time round as other managers will know to well his threat now)

What would you change and is there a player not currently in the team or squad that you'd like to see involved???

Me, if I were to make any changes I'd suggest the following... Taking a calculated risk I'd go for an initial 3-4-1-2 formation to get vital early goals not giving a chance for a team to settle. Once a 2 goal lead was secured I'd revert to a more controlling/defensive 4-4-2...

My proposed changes, little as they are...

GK - Robbo

RCB - G Neville
CB - Ferdinand
LCB - Terry

LWM - A Cole
CM - Gerrard
CM - Lampard
RM - Beckham

CAM - J Cole (IMHO, him played in the hole could be devastatingly effective with his extra goals and added threat to an oppositions defence possibly being the key difference between us seriously challenging for the cup and not...)

ST - Rooney
St - Owen

All of the midfilders are very much capable and willing to tracking back to aid the more exposed 3 man defence almost acting as a 7 man defence when required. The midfield is obvious very attack minded and a right handful to contain but, if at any time they are defending, they have the great option of releasing Joe Cole as soon as they break down an opposition attack...

Attack being the best form of defence would be the basis of this approach...

Subs would be made such as Defoe for J Cole allowing Rooney to drop behind the two strikers. Then as soon as a 2 goal lead is secured switch to 4-4-2 dropping Ashley Cole back to defend at LB and swapping J Cole for a more defensive minded midfileder...

That's what I'd love to see, You?

DOh, not thinking, of course this thread shouldn't be here, MOD please move...

About the team, I know Neville can be a bit of a **** but he does seem to still do the business and rarely makes mistakes. That said we could do with a fresh face back there but let's that our lucky stars that it didn't turn out to be Danny 'the temper' Mills...
