No he said he wouldn't go to anything unless he was no. 1, which he won't be because of his age. Otherwise he would have gone to the Euros instead of Walker. In fact he'd be number 1 now except he refused to go on a series of friendlies with Leeds when Venables took over after the WC, meaning he was dropped. So when Seaman retired from them in 2003 Martyn wasn't in the Leeds team for selection so...we have David James and a defensively disasterous tournament. |
