Game was better than the USA one, Owen played well but the real player that stood out for me was Michael Carrick.

Glen Johnson is rubbish.
Owen played well, so did Carrick and Knight.
Both the keepers were crap

Things we learnt from that game:
1. Peter Crouch is very tall, and an average player.
2. Michael Owen has an eye for goal.
3. Michael Carrick is a classy and technically accomplished central midfielder.
4. Glen Johnson is not, under any circumstances, a centre half.
5. Phil Neville is not, under any circumstances, any good.
6. Zat Knight is also very tall, and also an average player.
7. Luke Young feels just as out of place as he looks in the England team (did you see how tense and nervous he looked before he came on?).
8. Robert Green is a better goalkeeper than David James.
9. David Beckham can cross a ball.
10. Colombia can't defend, and like to fall over a lot.
That's about the gist of it.

we also learned that joe cole doesnt like to pass the ball unless hes in the defensive thrid and needs someone to blame losing the ball on...
also that defoe is over rated...
on the plus side, richardson looked lively again and ashley cole obviously trusts him more than he does joe cole as he was linkng up with richardson nicely, when he came on...

it was offside
if cole had played the early ball instead of hanging on to it as he always does it would have been onside - we just got lucky

i did...
and as max has just said, well... you can read...
did you not see the other '35' potential passes in the final third that cole opted to do a river dance reject impression and then blaze the ball either over the bar, into a defender, or simply lose it by running with it too much?
and then when in the defensive third, then and only then does he really look to pass..
normally when hes about to lose the ball, he passes it to someone whos surrounded, who then either lose the ball themselves or have to rush a clearance which loses possession....
ashley cole prefferred playing with richardson and obviously trusted him more and it showed...
ashley cole was actually overlapping richardson and getting forward when he came on...
joe cole simply swapped flanks and did the exact same thing over there...

That's the first time I've seen him at centre-back, and you could tell he hadn't played there since his early West Ham days. He's too confident on the ball to play centre-back, he tried and failed to dribble round Angel and Rey too many times yesterday. At least at right-back he can get forward and use his attacking abilities - even if he still can't defend to save his life.

lets not delude ourselves, green is nowhere near as good as robinson....and tbh your criticism of cole is absurd.
based in limited fact.
btw looked at owens scoring record....32 goals in 70 games i think....that aint too hot.

Don't take things so personally, what relevance does Watford have to this whatsoever?
