I will believe it when I see it. I am NOT saying the move won't happen, but I'm also (given MLB's track record) not 100% sold on it being a done deal -- no matter what the press releases say. When there is baseball in April 2005 at RFK then I will be convinced. Selig and his cronies have goofed up too much concerning baseball -- no reason why they can't goof this up as well.

Read about it on the Washington Post a few days ago. And the 6-0 win over Municipal shouldn't have come as a surprise.

You mean for someone else -- baseball or soccer -- to use? I doubt Dan Snyder would allow anyone else to use it for more than a game or two. He owns the stadium as part of the Redskins package -- so he gets the final say.

If I'm not mistaken, Municipal crushed an MLS side in the CONCACAF Champions Cup either this year or last year.

Municipal beat San Jose 4-2 and lost 2-1 (5-4 aggregate for Municipal) in 2003 version of tournament.

Maybe Municipal didn't really care a lot this time since it was just a friendly.

Split Screens Will Be Used During TV Coverage of MLS

NEW YORK (March 29) - A split screen of game action and commercials will be part of Major League Soccer's television coverage this season by ABC Sports and ESPN2.

The split screens will be used during the telecasts twice during each half and in 30-second intervals. The coverage starts with Saturday's MLS season opener in Carson, Calif., between defending champion D.C. United and Club Deportivo Chivas USA, the league's new Mexican-owned franchise.

The split screen was used this month during first two races from the 2005 IndyCar Series.

In addition, coverage will feature expanded use of microphones, worn by coaches.

I can live with split screens if it means that the MLS stays available on ABC/ESPN

7:30 AM? That's pretty early!

Final 1-1. I thought it was a questionable penalty call (though the Fox announcers didn't seem too bothered by it).
