DC United new stadium
1. WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
"We've got to get busy here and get a facility for a team [D.C. United] that has been one of the great brands for soccer in this country. We can't continue to play backseat to baseball and have to figure out our future based on what Major League Baseball decides is going to happen. We've been here since 1996; we've been the major tenants at RFK. We've got a great relationship with the mayor and with the sports commission, but we've got to get a deal done as quickly as possible."
-- MLS Commissioner Don Garber (The Washington Post)

I hope they do get a new stadium I would hate to have them have to work around the schedule of the MLB that would just be a pain.

As of now, there isn't a baseball team in DC, so United can stay at RFK for a while longer.

i dunno, i guess i just have fond memories of RFK. It's a beautiful stadium and it's not like United fills it anyway. Maybe it'd be better if the baseball team just got their own damn stadium. Plus, it's nice playing in a stadium that isn't named after a damn company.

Baseball in football stadiums never seemed like a good idea to me.

The baseball in a football stadium is temporary too...they are just going to use it if it goes through as a stopgap to a new baseball park too...4 stadiums in the DC area crazy.
