After rejecting offers from the likes of Atlético Mineiro and Panathinaikos, erstwhile Botafogo right back sensation Ruy has reportedly agreed to join D.C. United on a three-year contract.
The 28-year old Belo Horizante native has draw raves for two seasons, but will move on a free transfer with his contract expired.
"The player is really being waited for with bated breath at D.C.," agent Marcio Bettencourt told Brazilian radio.
"They've already made a sacrifice of two players so that Ruy could fit hand in glove when he arrives."
