eddie johnson could very well develop into a top notch striker, but I doubt good enough to play for Man United.

Sinter, I can't say that I disagree but he will play at a high level, maybe not at an elite club like Man United but a damn fine team in top league.

yup another goal and an assist... the assist looked like he was going for another goal, but im sure he'll take it. The work he did to set that play up was amazing tho. I definitely agree if he doesn't wind up at Man United, that he'll wind up somewhere in the epl or another top euro league.

who's MLS screwing? Not Beasley, if thats who you are referring too. MLS is getting royally screwed on these deals to Southampton or PSV and IMO you have to turn them down, because they are sh!t offers. I can understand Beasley's frustration but the MLS can't let there players go for less then they are valued at!

Beasley's tranfer fee should be £3m to £4m and PSV who had a better offer than Southampton was in the $2m (dollar not pounds) range which is less than £1m. Hell if he was the same player he is now but from Brazil his fee would be in the £5m-£8m range.

what do you think of this trade?
4. ON THE MOVE: Eddie Gaven swapped for Edson Buddle

Midfielder Eddie Gaven, 19, has been traded from the New York Red Bulls to the Columbus Crew in exchange for 24-year-old forward Edson Buddle.

Gaven, who debuted in MLS at age 16, has played in 69 games (62 starts), and tallied 16 goals and 12 assists in three seasons. Gaven played for Crew coach Sigi Schmid at last year's U-20 World Youth Championship.

Buddle appeared in 106 games for Columbus and notched 42 goals during his four seasons.

The New York Red Bulls also traded Canadian defender Adrian Serioux, an offseason signing hailed by club president Alexi Lalas as "just what the doctor ordered," to Houston for Danny O'Rourke, the 2004 MAC Hermann Trophy winner out of Indiana University.

Two future US midfield stars in Gaven and Szetela playing on the same team could help both of their developments. As I mentioned in the other forum, hopefully a change of scenery will help Gaven reach his potential. The Crew no longer have a big time goal scorer though, I guess they have alot of faith in Jason Garey.

Eddie Gaven played great against the Red Bulls. Hopefully the Eddie of old is making it a fulltime job instead of a fling. He's only 20 at the moment and can still make it big for the USMNT if he gets back to playing the way he used to.
