Scott Starts in Tico Olympic Opener 12/08/04

Columbus Crew forward Erick Scott started today for Costa Rica in a 0-0 tie against Morocco in their opening group game of the Summer Olympics in Greece. Scott played the full 90 minutes in the tie.

Men’s soccer in the Olympics is comprised of the Under-23 National Teams for each country.

Scott has appeared in six games for Columbus this season, with two starts. He also tallied an assist in The Crew’s 2-1 Open Cup win over Syracuse. Scott has missed a total of seven game this season while with Costa Rica, three for World Cup qualifying and four so far with the Olympic team.

Costa Rica plays Iraq on August 15 and Portugal on August 18. The top two teams in each four-team group advance to the quarterfinals.

Scott signed with The Crew as a discovery player on March 26, 2004.

The Ticos are hoping for some Olympic Magic. Buy the official jersey of the Costa Rican National Team. Available at the WorldSoccerShop

He's barely played. 6 Matches -- only two starts.

How's Testo doing? I saw him play in a Portuguese Tournament a couple years ago and he scored a goal, against Portugal

Columbus Crew Erick Scott 22 made headlines, his one of the fast players in the Olympics, he runs the 100 meters in 10s,
COSTA-RIQUENHO PENSA NO APURAMENTO
