Blades swoop to snap up Henderson

Sheffield United have added to their squad by completing the signing of striker Darius Henderson from Championship rivals Watford for £2m.

He joins the Blades as a direct replacement for Rob Hulse, who joined Derby on Monday for £1.75million.

Henderson, 26, has signed a four-year contract and the fee could rise depending on his achievements at Bramall Lane.

Doncaster-born Henderson told Sheffield United's official website: "This is a great move for me, coming back home. I've met the lads and there is quality in abundance here."

The worrying thing is we're not going to get any better.

And to give Hendo some credit he always gave 100% will get at least 10 goals plus he is the best at what he does, not many 'target men'.

Not worth £2m tho.

i'd agree that we definitely need two strikers at least.

things darius henderson was good at:
- getting sent off
- missing sitters
- being shit

watford fans overrated him so highly, he wasn't as hard a worker as a lot of fans make out, he couldn't head the ball (not a great trait for a target man), he only looked good when he had king (who was a much better target man) playing alongside him. £2m is a fantastic price.

despite the fact he wasn't very good, i'll always love him for the goals at the kennel, cardiff and upton park.

Well another good thing there is no chance of 'hoofing' next season.

I think we will only see one striker coming in.

Agree he only really looked good with King.
