Carrow Roeder as City opt for Glenn
Norwich have appointed Glenn Roeder as their new manager on a two-and-a-half-year contract, which will keep him at Carrow Road until 2010
The former West Ham and Newcastle boss takes over from Peter Grant, who parted company with the Championship strugglers on October 9 following a wretched run of results.
Caretaker boss Jim Duffy - who was Grant's assistant - has left Carrow Road.
Norwich head into Sunday's East Anglia derby with Ipswich at Carrow Road sitting bottom of the table with just two wins and eight points from 13 games.
They have lost seven and drawn one of their last eight league games, their last victory coming at home to Crystal Palace on September 15.
Chairman Roger Munby told the club's official website: "After a lengthy and diligent search I'm more than delighted to confirm Glenn Roeder is the board's unanimous choice as the next Norwich City manager."
Roeder's last managerial experience was at Newcastle and, after spells at West Ham, Watford and Gillingham, the Canaries' board believe he has the experience to steer them away from danger.
Joint majority shareholders Delia Smith and Michael Wynn Jones believe Roeder's standing in the game will also prove a bonus.
Smith said: "Glenn's experience in taking on clubs in difficult situations and improving their fortunes is clearly relevant to us.
"He carries enormous respect in the game, both from players and other managers.
"We are absolutely delighted that he has agreed to join us and we are all really looking forward to working with him."
another relegation to add to his c.v ?

What a crap post
how can you say that in October?
I think Roeder can get us out of the hole ...and get a lower mid table finish..and build on the squad

Glenn Roeder, wooooah
Glenn Roeder, woooah
He came to save the scum!
He'll send them to league 1!
What is Delia on about though when she says his record is impeccable? He got West Ham's golden generation relegated! And came very close with Newcastle too.

Im happy Huckerby got red carded .
Should be a tough game tommorow.
Apparently your defence is well dodgey though according to a few Watford fans who watched the game. And drawing to Ipswich at home isnt that good. There away record has been poor this season.
