Barnsley
Quote:
Brazilian defender Dennis Souza has become Barnsley's ninth signing of the summer.
Souza has been on trial with the Championship club and has featured in three pre-season friendlies.
His performances have been strong enough to warrant a two-year contract with Barnsley after spending last season with Charleroi in Belgium.
The 26-year-old has played for several clubs in Belgium and Tykes boss Simon Davey is happy with the latest addition to his squad.
"After watching Dennis in Belgium, we invited him over for pre-season and he has impressed in his short time with us," Davey told the club's official website.
"We are delighted that we have been able to complete the deal and look forward to working with him for the next two seasons."
Subject to receiving international clearance, Souza could make his debut for Barnsley against Coventry City on 11th August.

Barnsley v Plymouth match preview
Quote:
Barnsley will have two new faces in their starting line-up following their midweek signings of Anderson de Silva on loan from Everton and Steve Foster from Burnley.
Tykes captain Paul Reid is suspended and manager Simon Davey must decide whether to stick with new goalkeeper Heinz Muller or recall Nick Colgan.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is pushing for a starting role up front having scored after coming on as a substitute in Plymouth's games against Hull and Ipswich.
Midfielder Paul Wotton (knee) and Bojan Djordic (heel) have made comebacks for the reserves but are still short of match fitness.

Barnsley boss Simon Davey is calling on his friend David Moyes to let him keep midfielder Anderson De Silva at Oakwell. The Brazilian, 25, has completed a month-long stint in South Yorkshire and has returned to Everton - who he is yet to start a match for. Now Barnsley chief Davey is hoping his former Preston team-mate Moyes will let him keep De Silva.
