Cotterill backing for pacesetters
Burnley boss Steve Cotterill believes Watford and Charlton are clear favourites to win the race for promotion to the Premier League.
Both clubs were relegated in May but look capable of making an immediate return to the top flight.
The Hornets have opened up a four-point lead at the top of the Championship, with Alan Pardew's Charlton in second.
And Cotterill, whose men have begun their own campaign in promising fashion, said: "I think (Watford and Charlton) will be there or thereabouts. I think they'll be very strong.
"I think the experience of a season in the Premiership makes you stronger, makes you more athletic, and I think those teams will be well on their way.
"Watford will take some beating. They're very much an up and at them team, and I don't think Charlton will be too far away."
