Blackpool have bolstered their defensive options with the signing of Matt Jackson on loan from Watford. The former Wigan player has started only two Carling Cup games since joined the Hornets from the JJB Stadium.

Blackpool goalkeeper Rhys Evans has revealed he almost quit football last season. Evans is currently on loan at Bradford after dropping down the pecking order at Bloomfield Road. The former England Under 21 international considered quitting after coming under fire from a section of Blackpool fans last season.

"I felt some of the criticism that I got was unjust and it reached the stage when I felt I was wasting my time," Evans told the Blackpool Gazette.

Blackpool v Crystal Palace match preview

Ben Burgess is likely to return for Blackpool after missing their last three games with an ankle injury, while Kaspars Gorkss is also ready to return following suspension.

Seasiders boss Simon Grayson is still without the services of injured duo Ian Evatt and Adrian Forbes.

Warnock's first selection as Palace boss should be interesting, with James Scowcroft, Paul Dickov, Clinton Morrison and Besian Idrizaj all vying for a place in attack.

He has plenty of injury problems to contend with as Paul Ifill, Mark Kennedy and Carl Fletcher are all unlikely to be available.

Neil Warnock was denied a debut win as Crystal Palace boss after Blackpool came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Bloomfield Road. Tom Soares gave Palace the lead just before the hour mark only for David Fox to draw the home side level on 69 minutes. Soares soured his afternoon when he was sent off late on for serious foul play.
