Phil Brown has denied the club could be set to land Blackburn striker Maceo Rigters on loan. The former NAC Breda striker is growing disillusioned at life in Blackburn's reserves and has hinted at a loan move away from Ewood Park. However, Brown has distanced himself from the Rovers striker, stating no contact has been made with Mark Hughes' side.

The Tigers have been boosted by John Welsh's return to full training following a long-term injury. Welsh has been out of action since breaking his leg in March and now Brown expects the former Liverpool youngster to be challenging for a first-team place within a month.

Hull v Barnsley match preview

Quote:
Hull welcome Yorkshire rivals Barnsley to the KC Stadium on Monday night, with the match live on Sky Sports 1.

Manager Phil Brown will be hoping Hull can bounce back from Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Watford, while Barnsley are seeking three points which would move them up to third in the Championship.

Hull are expected to hand Dean Windass a starting role after the veteran striker began on the bench against Watford.

However, Brown looks set to be without Jay-Jay Okocha (stomach) and Caleb Folan (foot) - while captain Ian Ashbee sits out the third game of his three-match suspension following a red card against Charlton.

Barnsley boss Simon Davey will be boosted by the return of loan signing Anderson De Silva from suspension as he looks to build on the weekend's 1-1 draw with Burnley.

Davey, though, will be without Kim Christensen - who injured his shin in training - and striker Istvan Ferenczi is still out with an ankle problem.

Campbell at the double for Hull

Quote:
A brace from Fraizer Campbell on his home debut helped Hull secure a 3-0 victory over Yorkshire rivals Barnsley at The KC Stadium.

Barnsley could have moved third with victory, but they were soundly beaten by The Tigers as Campbell hit two first-half goals on his home debut before Dean Marney wrapped up the scoring in the final minute.

Campbell opened the scoring after just seven minutes as he fired home after being played through by Dean Windass.

The 20-year-old - on loan from Manchester United - added to his tally just four minutes later when he headed home David Livermore's deflected effort.

Michael Turner missed a 73rd-minute sitter for Hull after good work from Richard Garcia, but Barnsley were a beaten team long before Marney poked a third through Heinz Muller's legs in injury-time.

Hull City 1 Sheffield United 1

Bryan Robson saw his Sheffield United side claim a point from their Yorkshire derby against Hull at the KC Stadium. The Blades went ahead 10 minutes before the interval when Alan Quinn played in Jon Stead behind the back four and the striker took his time before calmly finishing beyond Boaz Myhill. Dean Windass levelled for The Tigers early in the second half when he sent Ian Bennett the wrong way from the penalty spot after Fraizer Campbell had been brought down by Michael Tonge.
