Preston goalkeeper Andrew Murphy has signed a one-month loan deal with Blue Square Conference North side Vauxhall Motors. The 19-year-old shot-stopper has moved to the Cheshire club to gain first-team experience.

QPR picked up a point at Deepdale, although Preston will be kicking themselves how they did not claim all three points. Paul Gallacher had the chance to secure the win, but saw Lee Camp save his penalty after Adam Boulder handled inside the box.

Plymouth's five-match unbeaten run came to a halt as they were beaten at Deepdale. Preston went ahead through Brett Ormerod's first goal of the season, the striker producing a crisp right-foot finish after Kevin Nicholls won an important header in midfield. And they doubled their advantage in the 67th minute when Darren Carter drove the ball home through a crowd of players after Nicholls' free-kick was not properly cleared.

Preston v Leicester match preview

Preston defender John Halls will undergo a late fitness test on his back injury, sustained against Barnsley.

Boss Paul Simpson could have full-back Billy Jones back though, if he has suitably recovered from his hamstring injury.

City captain Stephen Clemence is also out with a pulled hamstring, but striker Iain Hume is in contention for a return.

Versatile stopper Darren Kenton looks set to continue his role in midfield.
