Rangers to capture Cranie
Quote:
Skysports.com understands Queens Park Rangers are lining up a loan move for Portsmouth defender Martin Cranie.
Caretaker Rangers boss Mick Harford is actively scouring the transfer market as he looks to bolster the squad at Loftus Road.
Harford has made defensive reinforcements his top priority and he has sounded out Portsmouth over Cranie's availability.
The England Under 21 international is down the pecking order at Fratton Park following his summer arrival from Southampton.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is believed to be willing to loan out Cranie so that he can get much-needed first team action under his belt.
Harford is keen to tie up a deal for Cranie before the weekend so that he is available Monday's home clash with Norwich, live on Sky Sports 1.

Queens Park Rangers have snapped up Portsmouth defender Martin Cranie on loan. As revealed by skysports.com last week, Cranie has signed a three-month loan deal at Loftus Road. QPR v Norwich City match preview
Quote:
Bottom of the table QPR entertain third from bottom Norwich City in Monday night's Championship clash, live on Sky Sports 1.
Caretaker Rangers boss Mick Harford is desperate to record his first points since taking over from the sacked John Gregory to help his side climb out of trouble.
Harford hopes to hand defender Martin Cranie his Rangers debut after signing him on loan from Portsmouth.
Sidelined
Other loan signings Rowan Vine and Jason Jarrett are also set for their home debuts, but Pat Kanyuka is sidelined with a groin injury.
Meanwhile, the Canaries head into the Loftus Road encounter looking to notch their first win in five matches.
Under pressure boss Peter Grant will also be looking to end his side's dreadful scoring record.
City have not scored in five games, and mustered just five goals in nine league games.
Skipper Jason Shackell returns to the side after suspension but Grant is likely to be without defenders Gary Doherty (groin), Ian Murray (foot), Adam Drury (back) and Jamie Cureton (foot).

Portsmouth assistant boss Tony Adams has ruled himself out of the running for the manager's post at Queens Park Rangers. Former Arsenal star Adams has been mentioned as a candidate for the manager's job at the Championship strugglers.
The QPR manager job ain't exactly a attractive job it seems...

Simon Walton is making steady progress towards playing for QPR again as he recovers from a cruel leg-break. The midfielder moved to Loftus Road from Charlton in the summer but then suffered a fractured fibula in the pre-season friendly against Fulham. He has yet to make his competitive debut for Rangers but club physio Paul Hunter revealed he is coming on and medical staff are monitoring his progress.
Hunter said: "The fracture has healed well and Simon is making steady progress.
