Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric has dismissed reports that he has made an approach for Swindon manager Paul Sturrock. Reports have suggested Mandaric has targeted Sturrock as the man to replace Martin Allen at the Walkers Stadium. Swindon moved quickly to rubbish the rumours and now Mandaric has labelled the reports as "pure speculation".

Four in the frame for Foxes
Quote:
Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric is to interview four candidates over the vacant manager's job at the Walkers Stadium.
And the Foxes supremo confirmed that he hopes to be able to make an appointment before Saturday's Championship clash at home to QPR.
The Midlands outfit have been without a manager since Martin Allen parted company with the club just three league games into the season.
Mandaric told BBC Radio Leicester: "We are working hard to bring in a manager.
"There is a shortlist of four people, who we will interview this week and decide at the end of the week."

Clive Clarke is hopeful of playing professional football again following his recent double heart failure. The defender suffered the problem after collapsing during half-time in Leicester City's Carling Cup tie with Nottingham Forest last month. Clarke is due to visit a specialist in six weeks, but is keen to resume playing, providing he is given the go-ahead.

Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric has dismissed claims that Neil Warnock turned down the vacant manager's job at the Walkers Stadium. The former Sheffield United boss was linked with the club in the summer, and rumours emerged that Mandaric had approached Warnock after Martin Allen was sacked last month. But Mandaric rejected the claims, and also revealed that he does not consider Warnock to be a suitable candidate for the job.

Martin Allen is to spend time studying coaching techniques in Holland before returning to management. Allen was sacked as Leicester boss at the end of August just three months after taking charge at The Walkers Stadium. He is currently enjoying a short break from the game but is looking to take on a new role once he comes back from Holland.

Milan Mandaric has accused a section of Leicester supporters of 'poisoning the club'. The Foxes chairman has been angered by fans who chanted the name of sacked former manager Martin Allen during the Carling Cup second round tie with Nottingham Forest last week. Mandaric believes it is an insult to himself and new boss Gary Megson and has offered those supporters the opportunity to attend a face-to-face meeting at the Walkers Stadium.
