Veteran striker Tommy Mooney has joined Walsall after rejecting a new contract at Wycombe Wanderers.
Mooney snubbed a one-year extension at Adams Park in favour of a reunion with Richard Money, who was his youth-team coach at first club Aston Villa.
The 35-year-old admits working with Money again was a key factor in his decision to accept a move to Walsall.
"As soon as it became clear that I was going to be leaving Wycombe, Richard was first on the phone," Mooney told the club's official website.
"He is someone who I have known for a long time and it didn't take him long to sell the club to me.
"I am delighted to be coming to a club that is making tremendous progress both on and off-the-field and I am looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead.
"I played at this level a few years ago and scored goals, so I am hoping to do the same for Walsall."
Mooney spent two years at Wycombe, scoring 13 goals last season as the club missed out on a spot in the League Two play-offs.
