Default Craig completes Palace move

Quote:
Millwall have lost Tony Craig to Crystal Palace but have signed Andy Frampton from Brentford for an undisclosed fee.

Palace boss Peter Taylor announced earlier on Wednesday that he had agreed a deal with Millwall for Craig, and the defender's switch to Selhurst Park has now been finalised.

Craig said: "It's a nice step up for me. I have played in the Championship before with Millwall and I am thoroughly looking forward to it.

"I heard about the interest around three weeks ago. This week the two clubs agreed a fee and it has all been finalised now.

"Hopefully we are looking to get into the play-offs and go up, so we all want a good season for the club."

Willie Donachie has responded quickly to Craig's departure, bringing in a replacement left-back in Frampton.

"He has been in our thoughts for some time and is a very good and experienced left-back who will fill that role more than adequately," Donachie told Millwall's official website.

Frampton signed a three-year deal with Brentford last summer but has opted to leave Griffin Park following the club's relegation to League Two.

"I am very sad to be leaving, particularly after the way last season ended," Frampton told Brentford's official website.

"When I signed my contract last year I had every intention of seeing it out.

"But at this stage of my career I need to be playing at the highest level possible."
