QPR signed Chris Barker from Cardiff

Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of full-back Chris Barker from Cardiff.

The 27-year-old, who spent the whole of last season on loan at Colchester, has penned a two-year deal after agreeing the move to West London.

"He's one I've been interested in for some time, so I'm delighted he's signed," R's manager John Gregory told the club's website.

"He excelled in a very successful Colchester side last year and he was a firm favourite at Cardiff before the arrival of Dave Jones.

"There were four or five other clubs in this division pursuing him, so it's quite a coup for us.''

Meanwhile, the club have handed Aaron Goode his first professional contract.

The 18-year-old has penned a one-year deal at Loftus Road after impressing at youth level and he joins fellow youngsters Andrew Howell and Kieron St Aimie in pledging his future to the club.
