Eastwood not going anywhere!
Southend have slapped a 'hands-off' warning on Freddy Eastwood amid speculation linking the striker with a summer switch to Charlton.
The 23-year-old, who hopes to make his Wales debut against New Zealand later this month, is widely expected to move on after three years and 65 goals for the Shrimpers following their relegation from the Championship.
But chairman Ron Martin insists Eastwood, who has a year remaining on his contract, will be at Roots Hall when the League One season kicks off.
"Just because we have got relegated the situation has not changed regarding Freddy. He isn't for sale and he isn't going anywhere," Martin told the club's official website.
"We have activated the year option we had on his contract, so we have signed him up and he will definitely be part of the team next season because we aren't a selling club.
"We want to be going for promotion next season and the chances of that happening are far greater with Freddy in the team."
