Default Keane happy to keep cool

Quote:
Sunderland boss Roy Keane believes his players have done miraculously well because he has only lost his temper three times.

Famous for his fiery nature as a player, Keane claims he has been able to keep a lid on his temper in his first season in management because he has so rarely been let down.

He admits he has been disappointed on occasion, such as when Sunderland conceded two late goals at Sheffield Wednesday before running out 4-2 winners.

But Keane has been delighted with the efforts of his players and is happy to have kept his cool.

"I have lost my temper with them only three times - and that is a miracle in itself," Keane said in The Sun.

"Wolves away at half-time I was unhappy and Ipswich.

"Sheffield Wednesday away I was more disappointed and lost my temper. That could have cost us promotion.

"That shows how well they have been doing. All we ask of them is that they give 100 per cent and they have done that."

Sunderland sealed promotion to the Premiership last week but Keane is still eager to finish the season with a victory against Luton on Sunday.

He warned: "We want to finish on a high and I will be disappointed if we do not win.

"In this walk of life some people do party maybe too much after a little bit of success. Those lads will not play on Sunday."
