Brown wants Windass deal
Quote:
Hull boss Phil Brown admits he is keen to secure a permanent deal for on-loan striker Dean Windass, despite the forward approaching his 40s.
Windass, 38, agreed a short-term switch from Bradford in the January transfer window, and his excellent form has helped Hull to stave off relegation.
And, having scored eight goals in 14 games, Brown believes the striker has many years left in him yet.
"Deano is writing his own script and he's probably writing his own contract," he said.
"Not many carry on playing at his age, but he's that special breed, like Teddy Sheringham.
"He can play into his 40s. He looks after himself, retains his fitness and his enthusiasm. I'd like to keep him here.
"Officially he's still a Bradford player, but we've talked to them all the way through and hopefully negotiations will be favourable."
