Luton Town v Derby County
Quote:
Luton manager Mike Newell will hope his side can get back to winning ways and deflect some of the negative press from the past week.
The Hatters have lost their last five matches in all competitions and will have another tough assignment when they face fifth-placed Derby.
Newell can call on goalkeeper Marlon Beresford, who will replace Dean Brill after serving a ban.
Winger Dean Morgan impressed for the reserves and could play, but defender Chris Coyne is short of fitness and Sam Parkin is out with an ankle injury.
Billy Davies is without defender Michael Johnson through suspension. However, striker Paul Peschisolido could play a part after recovering from the thigh injury which has kept him out since September.

0-0 at half time. We (Rams) started better and had more possession but the final ball was lacking. Despite their lack of chances Luton had possibly the best chance by Vine but he shot wide.
Overall Derby edged the half but Luton are still in it. Commenatry saying we played as you would expect the home team t be doing. Luton supporters are edgy and hopefully we can capitalise.

Because the rest of his team were under the cosh, he wasn't able to attack much. So i doubt anybody can judge him farely. From what i've seen of him on tv he's a decent player on his day.
As for us making the play-offs. I don't think we've played well so far. We've ridden our luck at times and then managed to nick a result (i.e WBA,Cardiff games) but results don't lie and we are currently joint 4th. We are more consistent this year and certain additions like Steve Howard, Malcolm have shown we are headed the right way. We're signing players whilst the team is playing well so there coming into a team full of confidence. We're winning away from home and if we can continue to win at home then we' could be dark horses. Only time will tell if our squad is strong enough but atleast we are now in the position where we can spend to strengthen.
Rumours abound we're still after two more players before January. Rumours of Chris Morgan, Leon Knight, Robbie Fowler are doing the rounds but we currently end up signing players that nobody has mentionned so who knows ?
