Cambridge United has denied rejecting an offer from Peterborough United for striker Dave Kitson.
Further to media reports that the U's have rejected a bid from local rivals Peterborough, Chairman Gary Harwood stated today, "The club has not received any sensible offers from any club for Dave Kitson, and none of any description from Peterborough United.
"Our players are for sale only at the right time at the right price.
"Everyone's aware of our situation right now, before December 22nd, and I can categorically confirm that Cambridge United has not had an offer from Peterborough United for Dave Kitson.
"If Barry wants to make an offer, and wants to contact me and do so, I would gladly listen to what that offer is," he added.
On recent reports that first division Gillingham made an offer for leading scorer Kitson, Harwood responded, "Gillingham did make an approach some while ago, but with the sort of money they were taking about, with your small change you could have bought Dave Kitson for the same amount.
"Our December 22nd issue has been well publicised and of course everybody thinks they can get him for nothing at the moment. Let me assure our fans that another club is not going to get him for nothing."
23-year-old Kitson is currently sidelined by a hamstring injury and has missed the last four games.
