Default United sign future star

Manchester United have signed 16-year-old midfielder Lee Martin from Wimbledon for £200,000.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson spotted the teenager playing for the Dons' Under-17 and Under-19 sides.

The deal could rise to £1m, with further payments linked to the player's progress at Old Trafford.

Martin has been watched by a number of Premiership clubs and Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool were thought to be interested in signing him.

They must really rate this lad!

Not bad at all. He must be good if there were a few Premiership teams wanting to sign him.
