QPR close on Togo star
Queens Park Rangers are closing in on the signature of Togo international Alexis Romao.
The 22-year-old midfielder played for his country in Germany at the World Cup, where a series of solid displays caught the eye of new QPR incumbent Gary Waddock.
It is expected that Romao could make his bow in blue and white on Tuesday, in a pre-season friendly at Aldershot, before putting pen-to-paper on a deal to keep him at Loftus Road.
Joining Romao at the capital outfit is Didier Drogba's brother, Joel, who Waddock will also run the rule over next week as he looks to finalise his squad for next season.
QPR chairman Gianni Paladini admits that neither player is in the bag just yet, but is adamant that if Waddock is impressed then he will do his utmost to land the pair.
''If Gary likes what he sees then we can do our best to keep the players,'' said Paladini.
