QPR seal Aussie deal
Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of Australian midfielder Nick Ward.
The 21-year-old schemer has signed a two-year deal at Loftus Road after successfully concurring on personal terms and passing a medical at the Championship outfit.
Ward, who secured his release from Perth Glory and Australia's A-League to seal the move, has spoken excitedly about his prospects for the forthcoming campaign.
The Australia Football Federation were disappointed to lose one of their most promising prospects but now the deal has been rubber-stamped, Ward is targeting a regular starting berth.
"I want to cement my place in the team as a first team regular and I've already set myself a target of scoring over 10 goals this season,'' he told the club's official website.
"Of course I've also got a team target of getting QPR into the play-offs come next May.
"I know that in the lower leagues especially they like to play the long ball game, but not in the Championship and especially not at QPR next year.
"I like to play good football, that's what I've always tried to do, I like to get the ball down and pass it, get forward and score goals."
