Luton legend Brian Stein believes the Hatters' progress is very much dependent on securing a move to a new stadium.
The Hatters plan to relocate to a new site for a ground near junction 10 of the M1 - but they have yet to receive the go-ahead to begin building work.
And Stein - who played for Luton between 1983 and 1988 and is now assistant to manager Mike Newell - knows the move cannot come soon enough.
"On Saturday we play Coventry at the new Ricoh Arena, and we have already played in great new stadiums at Leicester, Stoke and Hull," said Stein.
"Kenilworth Road holds only 10,000 people, so if we want to move forward we have to go to a new stadium. The manager spoke to the chairman (Bill Tomlins) about it last week.
"He said things were progressing, and we are keen to get something concrete."
