PNE snap up Rovers ace JJ

Preston boss Billy Davies has completed the signing of Blackburn striker Jemal Johnson on a month's loan.

The 20-year-old, who has made two substitute appearances for Rovers this term, goes straight into the North End squad to face Leicester.

Davies has been keen to add firepower in recent weeks due to David Nugent's illnesses and Richard Cresswell's move to Leeds, and the Preston manager is confident Johnson can have a similar impact to Manchester United's David Jones, who has impressed since arriving at Deepdale on a season-long loan.

Davies said: "We've been very much aware of the young lad.

"He's very bright, very quick, he's now been given this opportunity and we're hoping he can come in and score goals, which is one thing he can do.

"I'm as confident as I was when I looked at David Jones and brought him in.

"We've given this young lad the stage and the platform to show everybody what he can do and it'll be the same with Jemal.

"He's got the ability and he's very lively. We're now hoping he can go and do the business."
