QPR are examining the possibility of building a £40m stadium within a stone's throw of Loftus Road.
Rangers are considering erecting the new ground on the astroturf pitches on South Africa Road - less than five minutes' walk from their current home.
Supporters groups have received assurances from the club hierarchy that Rangers would continue playing at Loftus Road until their new home was built.
Rangers would need to secure planning permission for the stadium from Hammersmith & Fulham council, who own the South Africa Road site.
