Boothroyd blasts Hornets
Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd felt his side paid for a slow start during the 3-1 defeat at Coventry.
The Hornets had hopes of returning to third in the table but were caught cold by a Coventry side searching for only their second win in 10 matches.
Watford were 2-0 down inside 20 minutes and although they pushed Coventry to the limit after Ashley Young fired a superb goal six minutes into the second half it was too little, too late with Gary McSheffrey finishing them off.
"We came out far too slowly in the first half. Coventry had a game plan and we simply didn't deal with it," said Boothroyd.
"The second half was different. We scored a great goal and had we nicked another I felt we could have won it, but we didn't manage to do that."
