Burnley don't want Ade sale

Burnley boss Steve Cotterill has dismissed speculation that Ade Akinbiyi will move to Sheffield United, but did suggest that The Clarets could easily recoup the fee they paid for the player.

Akinbiyi has been linked with a move to Sheffield United - but Cotterill believes that it is in his interest to keep hold of the former Leicester man.

The striker scored twice against Coventry in a 4-0 win, and Cotterill believes that he is about to show why he was brought to the club.

"I think Ade is quite probably getting towards the form we know he's capable of," Cotterill told the club's official website.

"What you see is what you get and a few people probably turned their noses up at the fee when we signed him, but we could sell him for more than that tomorrow.

"Not that we will, but it hasn't been a bad bit of business."
