Watford have handed a trial to Edwin Ouon after the defender failed to earn a deal at Ipswich Town.
The French stopper trained with Ipswich earlier in the month but was unable to convince Joe Royle he merited a contract at Portman Road.
Ouon has now linked up with another Championship side after being invited for a trial with Adrian Boothroyd's Watford.
The 24-year-old played in Tuesday's friendly against Northwood and came on as a substitute in both the first half and midway through the second period.
He performed dependably in defence and will now wait to learn if Boothroyd will offer him a contract.
Ouon is available on a free transfer after spending the last three seasons with Royal Antwerp and he has also been on the books of Italian side Cagliari.
