Lightbulb Leeds eyeing major signings!!!

Leeds United manager Kevin Blackwell has stated the fallen giants are looking to make a couple of major signings before the start of the new season.
The Whites are down to the bare bones, not helped by Jermaine Wright's recent hamstring strain, and are keen to bolster their numbers in the coming weeks.

Blackwell has seen his team display indifferent form after salvaging a draw against Valencia at the weekend on the back of a goalless clash against Oldham and a defeat to Mansfield.

Former Charlton and Nottingham Forest midfielder Chris Bart-Williams is currently mulling over an offer from the Yorkshire outfit, but has a number of options available.

"I know if we don't sign any players what my starting eleven will be, but we'll make two or three more signings and they will be major signings," said Blackwell to Sky Sports News.

Meanwhile, Wright is now in a race to be fit to play Derby County on the opening day of The Championship season on August 7 after sustaining the knock against The Stags.

"Wright could be out for a couple of weeks. We're hoping he makes it for the first game of the season, but we'll see how things go," Blackwell added to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"He felt his hamstring in the warm-up on Wednesday and I didn't think he was anywhere near as mobile as he can be.

"Maybe he shouldn't have played but such is the keenness among the players that they don't want to risk missing out and losing the shirt."

Can't see them doing a great deal straight the way though.
Perhaps they'll do a Sunderland and come good in the latter part of the season?

I think its best for them to consolidate, as whitearmy says. Mid table should be their aim, then see where it goes
